So, Why Can Our Eyes See ?

Here is a brief explanation of How Eye Works and its important parts.

At the outer edge of the eyeball is a clear membrane called the Cornea that acts as a light receiver. Amid the eyeball there is a small hole called Pupil which serves to determine the amount of light that will enter the inside of the eye. Pupil’s opening will change with the light it receives. If Receiving a bright light, the pupil will narrow to prevent strong light from entering the inside of the other eye while in dark conditions, the pupil will spread to receive more light. The width or the narrowness of the pupil is affected by the iris ie the colored part of the eye. The principle is adopted by the Camera we use today.

The incoming light from Pupil will be forwarded by the Eye Lens to the Retina (mesh). The Eyepiece functions as a Focus Light regulator to make our vision more clear. When viewing a distant object, the eyepiece will be thinning while to see the distant object, the lens of the eye will thicken.

The retina (mesh) receives light from Pupils through the lens of the eye. The retina is part of the eye consisting of cells that are very sensitive to light. After receiving the light, the Retina sends light signals to the brain via Optical Nerve and you can read more at mcfol.org.
